Any solution to the P0600 code?

Car ran fine. I didn't drive the car for maybe 4 days. As I started to drive it again, from a complete stop, it would start in 2nd gear for the first 5-10 feet, then shift down to 1st until it picked up speed and then back to 2nd and then 3rd and 4th.

I didn't think of much yet but until later that night, it locked me out of 1st gear and 4th gear. Even if I put it into 1st manually, it would stay in 2nd. Same with turning OD Off and back on, it would not engage 4th. I noticed my OD Off light blinking before I started it up so I checked for codes and came up with 0504 or P0600. It was the only code that showed up and there was no CEL light that came on.

I cleared the code and got 1st gear and 4th gear back but I still have the same 2nd gear starts. It also feels like it'll take forever to shift when I WOT at any speed. 1st to 2nd gear change is rough and it feels as if there is a lot less power above 4k rpm.

I have searched but ended up finding out that some has fixed this problem by changing various parts. There was no real solutions to this problem. I read from changing the VSS (Vehical Speed Sensor), changing speedometer, changing knock sensor, changing TCM and/or ECM.

------------------------

I changed out my dash with a spare dash I had and it didn't fix the problem.
I checked the VSS for any disconnected wires, nothing.
I checked the TCM/ECM to make sure it is still plugged in tight.
I checked the tranny fluid, looks fine and at proper level.
Knock sensor has been changed < 40k miles ago but I never got any codes for it recently.
I'm not running the drop resistor mod.
After I cleared the code, I haven't seen it turn back on but the problem is still there. I am waiting for the code to come back to confirm.

Any idea where else to look before I have to start spending $$$. I'm hoping it'll be the VSS and if a new one would fix the problem but I read that the VSS isn't much a wear & tear part and the code doesn't even show the VSS being a problem. As of now, I can still drive around town but there is still the rough shift in 1st to 2nd, the 2nd gear starts and stumbles, and the loss in power above 4k rpm. Any help?

Oh, and here is what the code means to save time:

Diagnostic Trouble Code 0504 points to a problem with the Automatic Transmission Communications line. Pulse signals are exchanged between the Engine Control Module and the Transmission Control Module to assure smooth shifting during hard acceleration or deceleration.

This malfunction is detected when the ECM continuously receives an incorrect voltage from the TCM. Possible causes include...
- Harness or connectors (The communications line circuit between the ECM and the TCM is open or shorted.)
- TCM
- Discharged or faulty battery

I just did the following:
1. Turn to ON, but dont start it
2. Move to Drive
3. Turn OFF
4. Put O/D OFF
5. Turn ON, wait 2 sec's, shift to 2
6. Put O/D ON
7. Shift to 1
8. Turn O/D OFF
9. Press gas to the floor, then the CEL will flash giving you tranny codes.

And got 10 short flashes which indicates no error code at this time.

I went to Nissan and got a new VSS and installed it. At first, I thought the problem went away but now it is still there. It'll still stumble off the line by starting in 2nd and then shifting back to 1st. Then there's still the lack of power.

Any ideas where else to look guys??
