So the other day my car (95) started running rough, and it sounded almost like the subaru wrxs do. I took it to a shop and they at first thought it was a cylinder misfiring, so they started replacing plug wires and such but it didnt do anything to help the problem. The shop ended up running a compression test and one cylinder was running at about half compression from what they said, i believe like 75? So they thought a valve was bad in the engine... I have been driving the car for a couple of days and then today the problem went completely away and the car drove normal with full power. And I guess my car just wanted to tease me because thirty minutes later it went back to running rough. Any ideas?

 

Well I doubt its your valve, cause when that goes, Im guessing its not a intermittent problem. Have you checked your coilpacks? Maybe even an injector?

 

Well at first I thought it was the coilpacks, but after I found out that one cylinder has low compression on it I cant imagine that would be the cause.
