Hey guys, so i went out for food tonight and i began to hear this sound coming from what i think is the middle-to-back of the car, i cannot figure out if its more to the left or right. It occurs both in gears and neutral as well. The speed in which i hear it is at approximately 6-1 mph. As i slow for a stop light i can hear the kek kuk kek kuk kek kuk kek kuk and the slower i go kek...........................kuk................. ..........kek...................kuk.complete stop. Does anyone know this sound.? My guess is wheel bearing, but i have never heard a wheel bearing noise, so this is just a clueless guess.
Any help would be gladly appreciated.Thanx

or brakes, when was the last time u serviced them? or maybe the dust shield is rubbing? easy wat to check the bearing is jack it up and check for play from side to side.... i think.

Well, i was doing stud work last 3 weeks and rear pads were perfect. Dust shield...hmm....well its not a rubbing sound, but more like a clunking sound and whats funny is the 1st sound sounds different from the 2nd (kek kuk)Originally Posted by arrocha87

Ok, so i checked the pads and rim both looked good. About 1 nut on both backwheel could still have tightened, but that couldnt have caused it. The other thing i should mention is i have 4 studs iout of 5 on the rear right rim, but once again, that shouldn't cause it either, plus i never had that sound up until yesterday. The sound is so light, but yet annoying, anyone else wanna chime in.?

you might want to put that last stud/lug nut on that rim, that can cause for the other ones(studs/lug nuts) on that rim to get looser as you go, believe me i had a bad experience with something just like that, but that can also cause the wheel to shift for the wheel is not being held on there as evenly as it should. just from my experience. good luck finding the problem.

I'd start with the brakes and then look into the bearings... placing the front of the car on stands and letting it run in gear might yield a faster diagnosis.

Ok, so brakes, what do you recommend i do with them. As for bearings, after reading, almost every noise that comes from bearings are more like hummmings. Having the car on stands,in gear running.....hmm...is that safe.? So far, im still trying to get atleast 2 lugnuts, one for the one missing at the back and one for spare and see if that fixes it.Originally Posted by Krypto

I'm sure one can always make it safer. I've done it thousands of time, make sure the handbrakes are on when you do this and the wheels are clearly away from the ground. It has never failed me but I'm sure one could mess it up... so try not to make the news if you opt to do this. Originally Posted by Snypa

I doubt the lugnuts are going to do anything. As far as the brakes, you're checking to see if there's play between the pads and the rotors and any other anomalies.
