car keeps stalling!!!!

sup guys, so i have a 96 max and as of recently its been stalling alot on me and having an irregular idol. sometimes the car will run fine, but other times it'll start out running fine then when i let off the gas it either stalls , or the rpm's drop very low and i have to rev the engine to keep it running. also sometimes while i have my foot on the gas i feel it hessitate and the engine will sputer. So if anyone has any idea of things i can do to try and diagnose my problem i would apreciate it..
thankssss

just wanted to add that the car is also back firing from time to time. I've already changed the fuel filter, thought i just wasn't getting fuel but that wasn;t the quik fix.

I recently had a problem with erregular idle and stalling . I managed to narrow it down to the engine harness where it bends down to head through the firewall near the pas side strut tower. There was a tsb about it. Let the car idle and go under the hood and pull push and wiggle the harness where I described it if there is a bad connection the idle will change every time you move it a certain way. It may even stall. This might not be your problem but it's easy to check. Good luck

Issue sounds to be either the MAF or the injectors, have you checked to see if all of your injectors are firing?

yea i was thinking either the maf or the injectors, i checked the injectors by unhooking each one while the car was running and it appears they were all firing, is there any way to check the maf to see if its working properly???

I had this problem a year ago. Replaced MAF - no more problemo. I've bought several replacements but only two (stock) were working properly. Don't buy "home" made. I see one here:

My car has a knock we thought that it might be the tie end rods but after replacing them this is still a slight knock. The car is idleing low its stalled once, what does the knock meaning does that come in to play with the maf.
