Alternator?
Alternator?
Had the battery and e brakes light flash on a while back. Swapped in a new alternator. The problem appeared to be fixed. Lately, it seems to be back.
I had the charging system checked after my wife told me this was happening and they found nothing wrong. For her it seemed to come on when she was in traffic. We just took it on a 800km round trip. It did not come on when on the highway at all. From what I noticed is that it appeared to come when the car was at low RPMs. It did not come on when I kept the RPMs up by using 2nd (auto).
Are there different output alternators for the car? Perhaps I put on the lower amp one... Our is the XE with the heated seats, heated mirrors, AC etc.. Not that any of that was on...

I'd take it into a shop and have them do a run on your cars computer. They might be able to point you in a general direction. I'd also check your connections. Dirty contacts could be throwing it off now and then.
I forgot to mention, before it was on all the time. Now it just flashes on then goes off pretty quick. After my wife mentioned it was back, I had the shop check it out for me. They found nothing wrong with the charging system. Of course, after they checked it out we went to the mountains, which is where it flashed for me.
I had something similar happen to me when I owned a Honda Passport. I'd get the same lights on so I took it to get checked and they also told me there was nothing wrong with my charging system. I talked with one of my friends that was a mechanic and he told me that with the description I was giving him he was pretty certain it was the Alternator. So I took it off and took it to Autozone so they could test it alone. Come to find out it was the alternator. Not saying it's definately the alternator but it's something for you to try if you want....
