Goodbye 4th gen, hello ?

Been there, done that. not even remotely useful for me.
hell, no. RWD and stick ain't happening where I live
that's my hopes
I30 > max. I've had both, the I30 felt like the better car, and the interior was better
C5 = more than I currently make in a year
don't care for the 4th gen max.
the I30 felt different, and the 3rd gen felt way better than either.
budget keeps me from going to an I30 A33, we shall see what I find next, I didn't expect to sell the 4th gen when I did (totaled the van earlier in the day) so now it will be whatever comes my way for $500 and keep looking for something better for about $1500.

on a related note, i am negotiating on a 98 I30t. i want to see if he'll come down to what I have. if he does I will be thrilled for a while.
if not, i keep looking and reminiscing of the days when $50 got me a VE5 $200 a VE A/T with nice leather, $400 an I30. those were the days.

the original I30 plain were very much old coupleish. that is actually how I got my original I30. old lady decided to sell it after letting it sit for a couple of years, and NO maintenance prior to that. base models look old peopleish to me. the "t" adds alot as does the color. my original one was black

Yeah I noticed that on the chicagoland website; hopefully they just made a mistake and it's a VE; or someone just messed the picture up when posting and they have a VE as well. Good luck on that.

Anyhow, I just drove to the dealership where it is supposed to be, and the car isn't there. neither is the other third gen they have been advertising for months.
oh well, now my hopes are on successful negotiation for the I30t tomorrow night, cash should speak loud enough for me.

jeeze you could atleast upgrade to a 5.5th gen at the minimum.
I'd like to +1 the IS300 suggestion. 5speed, it weighs a lot and it a bit slower than a stock 4G but waay classier and handles much better, plus add some mods too it and it will feel peppy

what can you possibly get now adays for 1500 that won't crap out on you in a month? why won't you use the 1500 as a deposit and finance the rest, whethers its 5k, 10k, 15k or whatever. Even with 5k im sure you can get a pretty good car, but 1.5k???

2. you can get a decent car for $1500. been there, done that, just did it again
I bought a 98 I30t for $1650 earlier tonight.
I need to fix some odds and ends (fog light, tail light, mirror, and reset airbag light) and she'll be good to go.
