8 foot breaker bar...cant get axle nut!

So I cant get my axle nut off. I have broken a 3/8" breaker bar, a 1/2" ratchet and a 1/2" breaker bar. I have had an 8ft steel pole we used to try it and it broke the 1/2" drive (2.5ft long) breaker bar. Also we have a 250ft lb impact wrench. That didnt work either. Any ideas??

Try tightening it first?

you mean the huge axel nut...when u take off the wheel... yea that one just spray WD-40 all over it.. Have the wheel straight like let someone hold it. Then just wait 15 min. grab a hammer beat it a little. Then ..maybe it will come off.

blow torch on the nut to heat it up, PB blaster or WD 40, and a better impact wrench. though I'm very surprised that long breaker bar didn't work. sometimes the shock of an impact wrench is what's needed, but your impact wrench is weaksauce. see if a buddy has a stronger one you can borrow. even the cheapo ones that they give you for free with an air compressor are usually rated at like 400 ft-lb and a high quality one with be 600 or more in reverse usually. the impact wrenches' true torque capacity depends up on your compressor though, if you're using a small compressor that can't supply the CFM requirement for your impact, you're going to get less than the rated torque from it.

but heat is numero uno - hit that nut with a blow torch, really go at it if necessary - a good 2 or 3 minutes heating evenly around it's circumference. heat will loosen even the most stubborn of room temperature bolts and nuts. just don't grab it with your bare hand afterwards.

Ive tried heat. Ive got a blow torch and ran out of a tank of propane. It didnt help with the breaker bar or the impact.

Have also put wd40 on it, didnt help.

I had the same problem with some exhaust rusty exhaust nuts, I ended up just cutting them off. If thats an option I would do it as a last resort.

is your impact wrench electric or air. or you could just go to a local shop and have them try for a couple bucks

You do this if you hate your wheel bearing.

almost every time I used a torch to heat up the nut or bolt so it will come off easier. But only when the nut or bolt is seized.

My thoughts exactly. If you apply heat, apply it to the nut not the axle stub and don't go overboard. If you roast that wheel bearing grease you'll have a major wheel bearing problem in short order.
