Funny acceleration...

Alright so ive got a 95 max GLE auto obviously and i decided i have had enough of the short ram hybrid i was running ...(franken mid with a KN filter) and i wanted to but the stock box back on..... well did everything normally when finished i tightened up all the bolts and made sure all the lines were secure and the MAF was plugged in. I had my brother start the car and watch for codes so i could check everything over in the bay and make sure i heard no leaks... no leaks could be heard... after that i took it around the block to triple check everything and when i took off id have my foot all the way down but i was accelerating so slow it took me about 8 seconds to get through first gear...no joke...

i went home and put the short ram on and i had power back on my acceleration was normal for the setup...

any clue why that happened? Im not a newb im just stumped...i checked everything but it might be something small i missed. thanks guys

I assume you checked the entirety of the stock intake piping for any sort of blockage?

the short ram will require less pedal movement to allow more air into the engine, where as the stock setup requires more pedal movement, so check to make sure that there isn't anything caught under the accelerator, as this could greatly affect power with the stock setup but wouldn't really change much for the short ram.

I would have felt something under the pedal though wouldn't i? Like if my dumba** put the wrong side of a clamp facing the wrong way?

i might have lol...im still not sure what it was...scared the **** out of me though... pedal all the way down and it seriously took me 8 seconds to get through first gear

i was thinking along the lines of if the floor mat has ridden up behind the accelerator, i know I've done this before and it always take a while for me to work out whats wrong.

i dont think that wouldve done it...immediately when i pulled back up in the drive i swapped back to my franken and kn setup and took it out for a another drive and it was "normal" for my short ram set up....

My brother thinks maybe either my breather hose or IACV hose was bent...could that be the case?

The clamp was interfeering with the throttle pull.
Has happened to quite a few on here.

that might be it ...if the breather tube or the IACV tube was bent would it also create the same effect that happened to me?

i kno this prolly sounds stupid but unhook your battery for like 5 mins and let it reset and see if that does anything
