How to lower car like 3-4 inches budget way???
How to lower car like 3-4 inches budget way???
I want to know what you guys know about springs that give you that(3-4 inches) i know about coilovers but i think its too expensive
where i can get lowering without paying too much.
Right now im running stock springs with kyb shocks.

there is no way to do it properly and cheaply. the closest way would be to buy sprints or s techs and cut coils but this is not recommended for a number of reasons. it messes up suspension geometry (unavoidable with any type of low drop) as well as limiting strut travel and giving you unpredictable spring rates. you will also most likely run through axles quicker because of the harsh angles, which will cost you money and time in the long run.
DONT CUT YOUR SPRINGS!!!!!
Thats an extreme no-no, but the only way ur going to get a really low drop is to go with coilovers. look in the FS section there were some ground controls that just got sold for $200

What blackonblackaction said. Even if you did somehow lower it 3-4 inches your axles will be blowing left and right, which will get expensive and/or annoying to keep changing them.
And honestly I think we only have about 2.5-3" (if that) of compression travel from the factory AFTER trimming the bump stops (1.5-2" before, tops), so in order to even get the car lower than that you will need to shorten the struts which the only way I know of doing involves buying Konis.
If you can handle the geometry issues and replacing the axles (cheapo lifetime warranty axles from Autozone maybe?) every month, then your best bet would be coilovers.

You gotta pay to play. Try www.ingdirect.com
no cheap solution without sacrificing quality and safety..
there are ghetton ways:
heating your springs
cutting springs
old school spring clamps ( clamping 2 "coils" together on the spring)..
but all the above, I would NEVER recommend..
like they say, you want to play? the pay

4" lol.
3" on coilovers leaves virtually no suspension travel. 4" is borderline impossible and would be completely undriveable unless even with coilovers.
This is 2.75" on GCs with AGXs and bumpstops cut to 1/4 of their original size - and it was pretty uncomfortable. These tires were undersized @ 235-40-17 instead of 235-45-17 in the first picture.

lets keep the information correct. 3-4" may be impossible and/or undriveable on single tap or sleeve coilovers, but can be done on full tap coilovers without compromising suspension travel. that is not to say other aspects won't be extremely affected, but it is not impossible.
lets not mix fact with opinion, especially arrogant blanket ones. the only thing stupid is to go into it without understanding of the consequences. once the pros vs. cons have been evaluated it is up to the owner of the car to make an informed decision for or against.
This is pretty much as low GC's and shortened konis go. I was running Bens rear mounts and B14 AGX in the rear. That combo is about 2.5" shorter than a stock mount and A32 struts. They were all the way up. The fronts were just about on the bumps. I think I could have squeezed some more, but man it was the worst ride. With 3rd gen reds you could go much lower.

So many bad suggestions in here, cut springs, heated springs, and super low porfile tires with an exteme drop.
Why sacrafice the ride quality just for a look? With any of the mentioned above setups the ride would surely suffer.
Do it right or dont do it at all. If your looking for an aggressive drop and look go with a nice set of coilovers. If your looking for just a nice looking lowered stance then just pair up some nice springs and shocks.

VERY bad suggestions on here. what you want to do is wait and save up for an aftermarket spring/shock combo or actual CO's. dont be cheap. youll regret it later. the lowest dropping spring are either Sprint or Tein S-techs but be warned they are setup with very soft spring rates.
my 4th gen was on ground control and kyb's and the ride got bad really quick.Plus the axles were at bad angles so i am sure that if u lower to 4 inches but cutting springs or whatever you would definately be changing your axles often if you drive on bad roads

What looks best is the wheel flush with the fender, maybe half a finger gap.
