story of my maxima... life, hospitalization, and resurrection!
im so excited!! dude i just got home from friends house. he helped me install my new progress rear sway bar! im so stoked! its been a while since ive done anything to my car. mostly cuz a little accident i got in that forced me to use money for repairs just to keep it running. its running strong again and i hope ill be able to get it back into top form with new performance parts
mods so far (in order of installation):
- 17" eagle alloys
- tein h-tech's
- kyb gr2's
- stillen hi-flow intake
- apexi ws2 muffler
- 235/45R17 kumho ecsta spt's
- progress rsb
i know i havent done much, i quite frankly wasnt planning on doing anything to my car in the beginning. my uncle gave it to me 4 yrs ago as a high school graduation present. it came with the 17" rims and some generic tires. had falken ziex's for a while and that was my only mod until the driving bug bit me a couple years ago. i went out and did a bit of research, and since at the time i worked at mcdonalds i was only able to afford springs and struts. i went the a subtle drop from the tein h-techs and the relatively stiff kyb gr2s.
not long after i had made the mistake of teaching my girl friend how to drive in my car... and thats how the accident happened. we went straight thru a wall! sigh needless to say i was very sad for my maxima. biggest regret of my life thus far.
anyways so my car was in the shop for about a week. they replaced the windshield and searched for other possible problems. the bumper and lights and everything was still intact... only a bunch of scratches and dents but overall the car still looked good for having been rammed thru a brick wall. at first the car seemed fine. but over the course of the year, many problems came up and i think i put in about $3k worth of repairs. now i know that doesnt sound liek a lot, but for a poor college student who can only work part time.. thats A LOT.
well $3k and a year later, my car is in pretty good running shape again. and since then ive added a stillen intake, apexi ws2 muffler, went thru a few sets of dunlop direzza's (really good tires but i decided to go with kumho ecsta spt's this time around), and now this progress rsb. i previously was planning on saving up for a down on a new 09 altima... but since my maxima seems to be running strong again i want to stick with it for a bit longer. besides im really attached to it still hahaha.
basically im planning on a warpspeed or budget y-pipe next. any thoughts? suggestions? comments? feel free to reply or pm me! i would more than appreciate some advice and guidance from my fellow maxima enthusiasts
