Blown headgasket, how far can u drive?

ok my friend has a maxima with a blown headgasket, yes its blown coolant in oil. we want to take it to my moms house to do a swap. since we both live in apmts. How far can u drive on it? its like 25 miles highway from his house to my moms. if we put fresh oil and coolant in it would it make the drive?

Well depending on how bad it is blow. Most likely it is just minor enough to unseal and have coolent coming out of the water jackets like it is right now. You should be fine like Wizard said for 25miles. but not to say you should drive it without gaskets. =p

What is the reason for swapping in a new engine instead of doing the head gasket?

idk yet what hes gonna do, im just donating my moms yard and a pair of hands, its his project really. hes always on here but his lazy *** never makes an account so i gotta come ask. i think hes probably gona stay 3.0 tho, unless he comes up with some cash for a 3.5. So u can drive on a blown headgasket? but first u gotta find out what caused it to overheat in the first place right? cause if not the same thing that blew the gasket will keep damaging more stuff right?

make sure you drain the oil and put water in in... make sure you fill it right you would not want to put to much in it
