You'll need a multimeter to do it, but it's pretty straightforward:

Don't worry if you can't get it to exactly 500 ohms. IIRC, I got mine to about 495 since the slightest movement can drastically change the reading when you're adjusting it.

ok i tried putting the new tb on my car and buttoned everything up went to start it and it held idle at like 2300 rpms and the intake was like screaming SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! it scared the **** outta me haha soo i turned it off..

sounds like it could be a vac leak between TB and the IM. did you put a new gasket when you installed the 5th gen tb? Also, I assume since you previously had the 4th gen TB that you are running the 4th gen IACV with an adapter plate. The 5th gen TB, does it have a block off plate underneath it where the 5th gen IACV is located? or is the IACV still attached? check for vac leaks at both of those points. you can spray TB cleaner in the area until you're able to track it down.

the 5th gen iacv is still atached i just covered thenipples soo it wouldnt leak could that be the problem?? im not runnin any iacv i had it running fine like that with my 4th gen tb. ok i just tried it again and i moved the tps in a dif spot and the idle was jumping from 1500 to 2300 back and fourth

okay it was sum kind of leak or sumthing cause i put my 4th gen tb back on with the adapter plates and eveyrthing worked fine soo i solved that problem...and another thing is i forgot that my saffc hooks into my tps and **** soo it reads voltage soo i can set my tps right threw that im a knuckled head and forgot all about that hahah

If you really want to use the 5th gen TB, you can pull off that IACV and make a block off plate (apply some liquid gasket between the plate and where you bolt it up to the TB). More than likely your leak is coming from the IACV area. Also in addition to the oem gasket, you can put a little liquid gasket between the TB and the IM - I did that as a precaution to make sure I wouldn't leak from there. If your idle is still high after all of that, it's possible that the screw on the TB was adjusted at some point and the butterfly is open too much. As a last resort you could adjust that if necessary to bring the idle down.

Yeah, the 5th gen IACV bolts up to the bottom of the TB. If you take the iacv off of it there will be a huge hole/leak there. you should be able to make the block off out of any kind of scrap metal. just be sure there is a good seal when you bolt it on to the tb
