Help with grounding issue
I finally got around to changing my knock sensor a few days ago or thought I was. When I got under the hood and realized that I absolutely needed a universal joint and did not have one so I decided Id at least clean underneath the ground. When I went to screw it back in the head snapped off leaving the screw in the hole where I can not get it out. I unscrewed the ground next to it and put the knock sensor in it also. Shortly after I threw a 10/05 code which is an EGRC solenoid valve. Can I not ground two sources at one spot? If not how am I going to get the screw out? I will post a picture when I can find my phone cable.
The ground next to it is for your injectors. Grounding the KS there with the injectors should not be a problem - when I did the VI swap, I joined the KS and injector ground wires and extended it to one of the timing cover bolts. I haven't had any codes since the swap.
It's interesting that you would get CEL 1005 though. Did you attempt to get the KS out at all, and maybe in the process disconnect or otherwise disturb the EGRC assembly? The reason why I'm asking is because when I did my KS, the working space was so slim that I accidentally broke the EGRC solenoid valve in the process while removing the KS - My arm was kinda pressed on it and, although it physically looked fine after the KS was done, I instantly got the 10-05 CEL when I started the car.
Disconnect the harness to the EGRC solenoid valve - it's the green colored part near the mouth of the KS valley-, maybe clean it out, and reconnect it. If you would still like to change the grounding location, you can also search for a different grounding spot until you are able to get the broken screw out (to do that, you can drill it out). If necessary, you can slightly extend the wire and ground it at the timing cover. After you do all of this, reset the CEL and then see if it comes back on after a short drive. If the code reappears, it may just be time to replace the valve. I paid $64 for it at the local dealership.

I'm guessing the main reason they put different wires on different screws was if you do have to replace a part, you don't forget to hook up all of the wires. You could accidentally not hook one back up if they piled them all on the same screw.
Connecting the two grounds on the same screw should not cause an issue. I would just look to make sure you got good metal on metal contact. Maybe clean up the lugs and frame with some sandpaper.
If you have a center punch, try to make a divot in the body of the screw right in the center. (I don't know how mechanically inclinded you are. Hold the point right on the center then rap on it with a hammer. That should do it.) That way, when you drill it out, you have less risk of going off center and really screwing up the threads in the hole.

I'll just leave the ground there if it isn't going to cause a problem I guess I'll find that out once I get the KS changed. CRiME I did unplug the EGRC at an attempt to remove the KS without a universal joint so I will recheck the connection. I heard a pretty loud snap when i reattached it hopefully that wasnt something snapping. Thank yall for your input.
