vibration under accelration

This problem started 2 week ago and has progressively gotten worse, i thought it was just a coil going sour so i bought some coils and some spark plugs, i changed them today went for a test drive vibration is still there.

In more detail, it started vibrating 2 weeks ago when i was in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear at WOT, the next week it vibrates when its accelerating at any rpm in 3rd+ gears. now it has started vibrating half way through 2nd. when the car is cold there is no vibrations, when it warms up i start to get these vibrations, the harder on the throttle the more vibration i get at, WOT u can see the steering column moving about a 1/2 inch left to right.

my mpgs lately have been sucking too, i have been averaging 16mpgs. its i have to fill up after every 2 days compared to the once a week i use too. It feels as if its pulling fine, but illegal activities have proven otherwise

im pretty much stumped

Vibration? You seem to be looking for a misfire.

How are your axles? I've seen bad axles cause all sorts of weird vibrations during (and only during) acceleration.

my axles were fine as far as i knew, i know my rear my seal is going south have some a little bit of oil leaking, but nothing i can see from around the axle area, it might just be time for them to be changed thou, but i want to take care of all other possible problems before i look into a job like that

I was under my car the other day a snapped a pic of my CV boot this is on the driver side i didnt bother with the passenger

bad axles can cause this...maybe someone is messing with you and put some extra tape weight onto the axles...otherwise, it might be a misfire...but if it doesn't do it when its cold..i doubt its the axle..

so its most likely a misfire or an axle

my bet is on a misfire, so I need some causes, i think my ignition timing is off, it was checked a week before the vibrations started happening. Problem is the program that found that problem is still being developed, my car was actually the first OBDII car it was tested on. no codes are being thrown as far as i know, i will have that checked tomorrow

I'm having the exact same problem the last few weeks, and my axles are less then a month old. I also know that my tie rods are starting to die on me, could this be part of the cause for the vibration?

if it is a mechanical vibration you can lift the car and start looking for loose things.you could have a torn bushing on the LCA's, or a tie rod or a join etc. it could be a dirty TB and such. just my opinion

check the inner axles. bad outer axles cause popping...bad inner axles cause vibration when acceleration. Also if you have a low enough drop it could have your axles sitting at a bad angle.

i would think that your almost at a misfire range.. but then again it could also be the inner axles.. get it checked

Make sure you check the gap on the sparkers, the pre-gapped ones have given me problems in the past...double check the gap.1

Im starting to lean towards my axles when i turn left it vibrates a bit more, checked the codes last night and surprise surprise code 53 O2 sensor that will explain my loss of pwr and mpg issues. so code 53 is an o2 sensor i just need to verify which one it is, i believe that will be the one inbetween the firewall and the engine correct?

Usually the outter tie rod cause vibrations when its going bad, or worn sway bar bushings or brackets too. Have the wheels been balanced?
