I personally have the Exedy Stage 1 Racing clutch and I love it, it has the feel of the stock clutch but is able to handle much more abuse, I don't have a 3.5 though so I don't know how that would be on the clutch.

^ Stage 3 for a car with less then 300HP is a waste of money IMHO.

My next clutch will be from South Bend Clutches.

A 5th gen clutch should be able to hold the power, even with a 3.5 swap. IIRC isn't a 5th gen comparable with a stage 1?

will the 3.5 clutch bolt or do you mean the 3.0?

Exedy stage 1 is the same as a stock 5th gen clutch, asleast that's what mine said when i got it from a nissan dealer.

NAh, cant be the same. i got one and its good all around. the pressure plate can get to your leg after a while in traffic but its very tolerable and it will slay third gear any time you want it to. organic disc and a couple hundred kg's of clamping force than stock unit. im real happy with it and i hope people will chime in and say it will hold a 3.5

Excedy stage 1 FTW! lol

I have an Excedy stage 1 and it feels good. Took some getting used to (went from stock to this) and it felt so soft at first. Now it's broken in well and feels great. It can be heavy in traffic (stop / go) but for great grip off the line and into every gear. Excedy FTW.

no. Stage one has a little bit higher clamping force in the fingers of the pressure plate. Gen 5 is just a little better then OEM Gen 4. Stage one is rating for about 300HP in most clutches and under.

And iirc Exedy clutches are OEM with our cars. I believe I heard that somewhere on here that Nissan outsourced our OEM clutches to be made by them... Of course OEM spec.
