Can i use a '94 alternator for my '95?

My alternator is making noises, i know a guy that can get a free 94 alternator (b/c of the points he earned). He asked me to check for him cause he didnt know for what year of even if he had one, so i did and its for a 94 max. Im trying to save money, but i just wanna know if a 94 (3rd gen), alternator is the same as the 95 alternator (4th gen) Thanks.

iirc the 3rd gen alternator puts out 10 or so less amps. so the answer would be NO.
noise might just be a pulley bearing. take yours to a parts store and have it tested - they'll do it for free.

call the stealership and ask them, or even autozone, advance auto etc.

depending on where he is buying the alternator, some places list 95s as 94s because of an early production changeover.
