Technical Serice Bulletins

Ok guys, this may be a really noob question, but ive been reading up on the TSB's that are in the sticky, and is it possibly to have a shop do these repairs and apply for a refund from Nissan? I thought that if i tsb was issued, it meant that nissan would pay for the cost of the repairs, at a max of the given FRT. So if i had a shop write something up for them doing the repairs, then i could send it into nissan for a refund?

A TSB is not a warranty or recall repair.

If your car was still under warranty, then they would file with NNA and do it for free. You'd also be extremely unlikely to ever find a way to do TSBs or recalls at an independant shop and get reimbursed from NNA. I'd say closer to impossible. Especially given that most of the TSBs or recalls require parts kits for installation.

I had my alternator replaced when I was 19 on my 97 maxima in 03 for 550 bucks. Then nissan issued the recall for alternators, saying they were underpowered.. I got 550 back from nissan and a new alternator from nissan for free.
