anyone seen these "Pulstar" plugs?
well like it said...
I was just reading an artical in Pop. Mech. and was wondering if anyone has heard anything. Or better yet ,has anyone tried them?
I am an NGK follwer all the way and dont pay much attention to these "gizmo" kind of stuff, however, this one sparked a little curiosity.
Thanks

I've heard of them, all I know is they're like $25 a pop. Not worth it to me to spend $150 on spark plugs when $3 plats work perfectly.

there was a thread about these a little while back and someone said they noticed a big gain in power which was more likely because their old plugs were trashed.
I did a little looking myself and found an actual dyno run with an srt4 that compared NGK platunum, iridium, lazer iridium and the pulstar plugs.
They ran 3 runs with each plug and the difference between the worst (NGK platunum) and the best (Pulstar) was only like 1.1 hp
But the pulstar was only like .2 better than the NGK lazer iridium and .5 better than the plain iridiums.
All this info is all off the top of my head but i remember thinking that it wasn't really worth it for the price unless of course you were trying to squeeze every single hp out of your engine that you could.

All hype, but ain't worth a damn. I've installed 5 or 6 sets of them, and gotten a few defective units out of even that small of a test sample. No power increases, doesn't change the feel of the car at all (smoother idling, better throttle response, etc).
Basically the only advantage they have over regular plugs is that people will think you're so freakin awesome for having wasted that much money in plugs.
I guess that makes it no advantages...
