Bore Out The USIM?

Bore Out The USIM?

I am going to be taking off the upper intake manifold... i believe... would i gain any horses if i bore it some?

No. You wont see any noticeable gains. Short and simple.

Better throttle response and flow shown by Extrude Honing but only slight gains. Combine that with a larger TB and port matching does get you better gains. All w/o losing any low torque.

IF properly done, you could gain a bit of HP and throttle response. The question is, when 00vi's and mevis are much easier to come by/install why bother?

MEVI is easy to install, but not as good as the 00vi, which is also fairly easy to install.

I agree, after the time money and hassle, you would probably be better off doing an 00vi swap, not to mention I bet the 00vi will make more power peak and throughout the entire range than a bored USIM. Speaking of which, if that were to work on the USIM, wouldn't the whole inside of it have to be bored not just the ports for there to be any gain? It seems like the shape of the intake runners up top near the collector are somewhat restrictive and appear to be tuned for high velocity. I don't know how much room you would have to bore it out as the runners themselves are very thin up there.
