Towing Question

Ok, to start things off, yes, I have searched, but nothing I found answered my question accurately enough. So please dont whine at me for not searching.

Now with my question. I have a '97 SE 5 spd, that Im going to put a trailer hitch on. I dont want to have to tow anything with the Max, but its the only vehicle I own. I will be towing a 4x8 trailer with ONE dirtbike on it and maybe a cooler or gearbox or something. The weight breaks down about like this in pounds.

Trailer Itself: 290
Bike: 225
Other random stuff: About 100
Total: around 625 pounds

I would be towing it on the weekends probably no more than 200 miles both ways. So with that being said, would it be necessary to install a tranny cooler? Any certain things I should check/do before the tow? Anything else I should know about towing with the Max?
Thanks.

You got a 5spd... no cooler necessary. Ive pulled more weight than that with no problems. However I did need a cooler when I had an automatic. You'll be fine. Just make sure you have good working brakes.

Those numbers seem reasonable but you should check them against the owner's manual.

Take care with the tongue weight because the rear springs are very soft on maximas.

If you want to do your transmission a favor, put in some good synthetic gear oil (I recommend Redline MT-90).

Not positive, but i think he meant he would be towing a cooler for some cold ones.
