I have 95se 5sp cali emmision. I have had the evap purge control valve code and a check engine light for 3 years. Help me get rid of it. I do believe its the control valve (not the cut valve), because I cleaned it once and it went away for a few days (but this could just be restting the ecu). It also makes a whining whistle noise at idle. My question is, besides using consult, is there a means to check my purge control valve and my purge cut valve? Haynes has nothing.

 

my bad, ohmeter reads 32-34 ohms between appropriate pins. is this part expensive, and how do i ask for it, bc last time I got plugs I asked for a pcv valve and they definitely showed me the wrong part...

 

so the dealer wants 90$ for this thing. are there any org members with one they want to sell... perhaps tuners that ripped out their emmisions or leftover from a swap....? im looking for the EVAP canister purge volume control selonoid valve located near intake runners.
