Convertible Maxima??

Why oh why.....?

Ok, it's not a convertible but why the soft top? Oh yeah, I hope these pictures are good enough for the 2009 calander...

I guess you can only drive that car on those sunny days with 0% chance of rain.

I wouldn't call that so much a convertible, seeing as how there's no top for it IIRC.

the rag top one is weak, but the chop top 6th gen is crazy. not exactly my style but there's a lot of work in it and it's clean.

Ew, what's up with the little opera window thing? It might look a little better if they cut that part off.

A friend of mine that used to work at a body shop said if you ever saw what they do to the car when they put those soft tops on you'd never do it. Pretty gross.

I bet that "convertible" maxima drives horribly.... you'd need some pretty extreme chassis stiffening.

Better yet .... WTF are you doing posting pix of this when you are clearly in a Honduh!???!

I agree, it looks a bit off, but hey beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And it's a stink eye to the rest of us. lol

HAHA... because it gets better gas mileage than the Max. Plus it's not my car, I was riding shotgun when I saw this new trend.

I'll agree with you there, I always thought it was pretty cool. An engineering nightmare, but cool.

I wonder if the rag top was to cover previous damage (hail damage or the like). I don't know how any one under the age of 80 would think this looks good.

Oh wait, I guess the world is full of people with awful style choices!

I just tried to link the most awesome website on earth (www.beaterZ.com) and found out it was dead. How I miss looking at the awful things some people do to their cars in the name of style.

That's an old and popular mod with the lowrider crowd known as a Phantom top conversion where they would glue a foam on the roof before laying a vinyl over it to mimic the look of a convertible car. When done correctly, it actually looks good. Some cars even came with it from the factory...

other cars with similar mod:

No, it doesn't.

Convertibles look good with the top down, not up. That's why they have hardtops.

.... too much time and money on your hands. He must be a real body enthusiast cuz there isn't even a seam in the damn door frames. Still too much free time...

Soft tops do not belong on imports only seniors cars. They never look good, sometimes they look ok but not good

There's really no reason to criticize him like that because you're not fond of the work. A simple "not interested" would suffice, imo.

Not exactly my style either but it's something different.

dont be so touchy, never said i didnt like the work. the body work is excellent on the 2 nissans posted above. like i said the door seams dont even exist on the blue max, must be very particular about detail to do things like that. Just sayin if i was rich i would do something that u could equate to that. His max looks better than mine

... on the other hand if ur talkin about my rag top comment i dont take that back. There r at least 15 posts b4 mine that r the same :-p . its all in good fun

What's with the screens on the back of the rear seats? It would at least be usable if they were on the back of the front seats.

Because he's a car show ***** I never got that whole chrome and massive body work for a car show...show me a stock looking car that runs 10s, it should win every time.

i'm just wondering what the altima is going to look like..both cars look hot.

the blue one imo is just ridiculous. the body work on it is really nice. Def liking the shaved door handles, and the relocation of the gas tank..OMG...now thats HOT!!! must have taken tons of work. However, i'm not digging the grills. For some reason, i just don't like the grills on that particular gen. But not sure what you can put there tho.
