power steeng pulley tensioner..problem...
ok i just got done installing my supercharger kit and i cant figure out how to adjust the power steering tensior.. if anyone can help me figure out how to use the power steering tensioner id really appreciate it..
I'm pretty sure you need to loosen the Power Steering Pump and use that to tighten the belt. I don't see a tensioner for that belt.
See the following link from the Maintenance and Mechanical Information sticky.

I just went through this and failed! You need to loosen the pump mounting bolt on back side of the pump, it has a taller hex head on it. Then loosen the bolt on the front side of the pump that locks the adjusting bolt, then from below turn the adjusting bolt. I couldn't get the mounting bolt loose. I had to use two swivel joints and two extensions and broke one swivel!
It's kind of hard to explain, but there are 3 bolts you have to mess with. One is a set screw, one is a adjustment screw, and the one at the back allows the pulley to swivel left and right. You loosen them in the order I wrote them.
I'm surprised you don't have a FSM (free to download ) or a Haynes ($7-$8 on ebay/Amazon) at your side considering a SC install. The pics and writeup in them is pretty good.

I replaced both belts on my 1998 maxima today. I stupidly turned the PS adjusting bolt counterclockwise and broke it. I was able to replace both belts but I can't get the PS pump belt tight without the adjusting bolt.
How do you replace the PS pump adjusting bolt and the nut that locks it? I couldn't get that broken adjusting bolt removed. The clamped nut that locks the adjusting bolt also looks hard to replace. The nut in back of that locking clamp nut doesn't look like it can reached?
