how do i use a 5.5 gen hid kit in my 4th gen?

retro some projectors if you want HID

He can use everything bout the housings i.e the ballast and bulbs. You would still need projectors tho.

the bulbs wouldn't be the best though... the 5.5 has D2R, which has an integrated shield. most projectors are designed for D2S, and have the cutoff shield as part of the projector housing (between the bowl and the lens)

You cant. You could only use the ballast and even then you would be better off doing a projector retrofit or getting an hid kit. Check www.hidplanet.com for lots of lighting info or search here.

I agree .... you'd be much better off to either do a retro yourself, or have someone do it for you. You get many more options as far as output / cutoff / quality. There are so many projectors that will fit, why whould you even consider trying to use OEM 5.5 set up? The housings are different, if you look, you'll see.
