poor fuel economy
poor fuel economy
well around a year ago, i bought a car off a guy. he told me everything else is good except the maf sensor because the car stalls and he had a mechanic check it and it had to be that. (CEL)
So i buy it and put in the new maf, but i realized he had played with the iacv and throttle screw, because when the new maf was in the idle was crazy...
So we adjusted it so that the idle was good around 700 ish....
Now a year later im tired of having 10-13 mpg, i was wondering if the iacv is responsible for allowing air to come in and im running rich. sometimes i think i smell gas but it could just be me... o btw my car is fully maintained.. new fuel fitler inspected all fuel lines and im not leaking lol
Also i have pr cai, ss exhaust ypipe back, new o2 sensors (3), new Maf, new knock sensor, super gas, i have a egr code cuz the f***ing black valve thing that sits on top of UIM cracked.
I was thinking it was that EGR piece but 10-13 mpg... thats way too low for that. on the highway i get maybe 15. I looked at the iacv and it looked like it was screwd toward decreasing air, and i guess we compensated for the low idle by adjusting the tb screw...
I know this is a lot but if anyone has anything to help me out...
Does the iavc screw adjust fuel and air mixture, because i could be running very rich?

yea my rear brakes r messed up. if i put my e brake on they stick a little next time i drive and they smell really bad. its nissans auto adjusting thing that is supposed to keep the e brake working. mine works to well
^ lol. These rear calipers are so annoying. Mine's doing the same thing. I used to get 25 avg and i'm auto. Now (about a year later) i'm down to 19 avg w/a sticky rear caliper.
Something is messed up very badly to get 13 mpg. Maybe your two rear calipers are very sticky.
