the connections should be the same, and even if pathfinder is 150 then that's good, you won't blow the speakers then, good luck
If I'm correct, in the Bose systems, every speaker has its own independent 'amp' as well as 'active eq'
Now saying this, I don't really understand the Bose system that well (I haven't really felt the need to dissect anything from it - if anything, I'd replace it), but if each speaker has its own amp, the head unit up front really shouldn't have any effect on the total power output of the system. I was led to believe that the head unit didn't really power any of the speakers like conventional aftermarket head units do.
It would be a good idea to find out exactly what the bose head unit does according to functionality of the system, and to then see if the two would be interchangable.

Re: Re: Re: bose-pathfinder>maxima?
This should be a straight swap. The headunits in a Bose system have nothing to do with power, they just deliver the music signal to the system. Therefore they should be completely plug compatible.
the 200 watts in the maxima bose is derived from the fact that each speaker has its own amp. Each amp pushes 50 watts to its speaker. In the pathfinder, each amp is delivering ~38 watts to each speaker.

Yes. 50 to the left front, 50 to the right front, for a total of 100 watts to the front. Same applies to the rear. Pretty much what I said earlier, just added up differently. The 4 front speakers consist of 2 woofer/midranges and 2 tweeters, the majority of the wattage goes to the woofers.
