Lowering springs question

Hi all,
i currently have Maxima springs with stock shocks and I think it's time to upgrade. i would like to buy new shocks as well as new springs which would drop my car a just a little more.

i was wondering is this combo was good?

also, what do you suggest to go lower than maxspeeds?
are KYB's any good?

thanks

that setup is good, KYB gr2's are good for up to a 1.5 anything over that you need to get some adjustable struts(higher performance) like the KYB AGX's, how much drop do you want?

It depends on how low you really wanna go as ^^ said. But so far, illumina and agx are the best for the really lowwww's.

right now i have maxspeed which i believe is 1.2 back and 1.5 frong. i would like to go lower. i was thinking of getting "Sprint" springs as these go 2.0 front/back.
what's the best combo?

do you guys have any pics (from the side) of your rides? or know where i could see pics of lowered max?

AGX will not warranty if you go lower than a 2" drop.
The valving is adjustable. You just place your springs on the shocks and install. THe front have a four position dial that adjusts the valving inside the shocks. 1 is softest and 4 is firmest ride. The rears are an 8 position adjustable. Same principle applies.
Signature is AGX with H&R springs.
hope that helps you out.

Personally if your looking to get more than a 2" drop you should look at getting some coil overs. Ksport makes some that are "affordable". but coilovers do come with their own set of possible problems. Tien makes some as well. also with going lower than 2" you could be looking at axle problems down the road. Do some searching in the suspension forum on this forum and you will see what I mean.

Good luck with your decision.

I'm looking to get mine away from monster truck hight, nothing crazy, i think below 2"..would the kyb spring/shocks be a good choice? they seem pretty cheap, I'd like to keep it under $500 if possible.

Hey i've got an offer for ya. I have Zenn green springs that i just installed like 2 months ago on KYB GR2s and while i looove the slammed look, its just a bit too harsh for my pregnant wife. There is very little strut travel with the bump stops installed so i trimmed mine way down but we've decided on raising the car up.

Sooooo, if your interested, i will trade you my Zenn springs for your Maxspeed springs. Ill measure my maxima tomorrow with an empty and full fuel tank and get your exact measurements from the ground to fenderlips. If you could do the same that would be coo.

Zenn springs are supposed to be 2.0/2.0 front and back drop.

Let me know bro, otherwise im just gonna buy them off ebay or whatever.

Here's my drop on 18s with 235/40s

Let me know if you have any pics of yours.

i would personably go with coilovers you will have the adjustability and the ultra low look also you can adjust the dampning to get back some of the strut travel you lose with going low the nex coilovers use maxspeed designed springs and ive heard nothing but good things about them for every kind of car from audis to volkswagons
