code 0505
i finally got to check my car out and it threw a 0505 at me.. i reset the codes then checked again. 0505 came back out, its suppose to be the idle control system malfunction. i have a new IACV though. whatelse is part of the system that can malfunction? also after i did that i then went for a ride and it started hesitating and the car had a misfire for about 2 min then out of nowhere it was fine. stopped misfiring and ran like normal... im lost?!

ya its a pain to start it up. i gotta give it a little bit of gas. it misfired for about 2 minutes today and then while driving it and stopped and ran fine. it sounded like a sti w/ cams for a few min then it sounded like a regular maxima again. it sucks down gas, like probably 15mpg!? horrible. 0505 came up as iacv when i looked it up in other threads and on google but it was replaced within the past 2 months. i dont know if theres another part of that system that may have a sensor or something??

MAF seems fine i actually cleaned it recently. as for the fuel pump, your the 3rd person that now has said that.. it seems fine i turn on the key it pushes out fuel but maybe not enough pressure are you thinking? i turned off the CEL and it hasnt come back on, but i checked it reguardless and it still gave me 0505..

OK. I will be nice and tell you what the deal with the code is. No offense, but you don't know what you are talking about. the code you are getting is from the ECU self diagnostics with the little screw. That code is 5 long and 5 short flashes of the CEL.
The IACV code you are talking about is P0505 which is DIFFERENT! the 'P' codes are the once you get when you use a OBDII scan tool (like the once AutoZone uses).
your car does NOT throw any codes but it sounds like it is close to doing it. From the description of the problem you have I think you have a failing coil/coils or plug or something like that. could e an injector, fuel filter or many other things as well.
Learning how to search helped me do everything on my car by myself. I didn't have to ask any questions here until I hit the wall of my understanding.
Hope I was of some help.
