Tail light problem

Heyy guys. My left tail light has been out for a little while now do to some kind of erosion in the clip. The right side is fine, but when I unclip the left side I can see some blueish color in there and some powder from the metal. How can I replace this to get my tail light in working order again? Thanks!

Here's a link to the FSM. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/maxima/1998/ for the 98. If you're a different year still go there and dig back for it. This will show you where the wiring routes and will help you in all sorts of issues. As for the specific light prob, clean out the socket with a small brass wire brush and/or small straight screwdriver. Get it all shiny clean, and as smooth as possible, without taking much of the metal off the socket. It still needs to be there to make contact with the bulb. Clean off the bulb the same, gently on the end, it's prob soft solder-like metal. More importantly, find out where/how water is getting in to cause the Corrosion. You can seal it with a bit of silicone caulk ... not a lot, so you can take it apart later to change bulb. Probably either a leak around the lens seal, or a cracked housing or lens. Hope this helps, especially the FSM link. Lots of good stuff there. I suggest you look thru the |GI | section, some good advice and troubleshooting info there.
Good luck ! BTW, I suggest you download all the sections you may want to work on ever, all thru the FSM, in case you can't get the site some time, or if you want to print out pages for a working guide. I've printed most and put in a 3-ring.

Try NAPA , Auto Zone , Pep boys etc. NAPA may have the better quality than others, IDK 4sure.

Or you could try cleaning the blue stuff out with a wirebrush tha they sell for batteries.
