Help with Antenna

My antenna on my car is broken and im looking to replace it, but i realized AFTER i took it out that i need a bose-compatible replacement. The nissan dealership wants $250 for a stock replacement. Anyone know of another option? btw its almost winter so i need the hole plugged SOON.

Yeah, I've never heard there was a Bose-specific antenna. On a previous Bose-equipped Acura Legend I had, I simply replaced the power antenna with one off of Ebay for $32.

well let me clarify, its the antenna mast. And not just any antenna works, you have to be able to plug it into the bose wire from the headunit. As far as junkyards go, im hesitant because everyone i know that has a maxima thats about a 96 has had their antenna go bad.

so if its just the mast there are no cable on it. even if you replace the whole antenna unit you will not have to change the cables that go to the radio so you are fine.
eBay masts are like $15 each

The antenna mast doesn't connect to any cables. It simply has a notched plastic cord going through it that the motor holds on to. The antenna is the same for all 4th gen's, bose or not. I replaced mine with a cheap generic one from eBay and it works fine.

amen to that

Now about the short antenna. You don't even have to have the mast, you know. that's just for AM anyway and I am sure you don't listen to that. I suggest you get a cheap eBay mast and when you install it let it go all the way down and then unplug the power to the antenna so that it stays down. And there is your short one for ya
