Saggy *** 4th gen Syndrome?
Does anyone else has this syndrome?
4th gen 98 max SE with the back end of the car sagging or lower to the ground than the front. I have nothing in the trunk and I do not like the stance of the car like this?
Can someone give me some insight to this phenomenon? Is this the way it should look and if not, what can be done?
Thanks,
Lefty

I think this is fairly common, and something most people end up living with. I mean, if you're concerned with your cars' aesthetics to the point that a little slant/sag in the stance upsets you, I'm not sure why you got a Maxi...but hey, I think Maxi's should look pretty calm and sedan-y like they do stock, and not dropped/slammed/20s/chrome/stickers/5" tailpipe/etc. So my opinion isn't worth much on this board
Do a search with "sag" or "sagging" in it - I know I've seen at least one post on the subject. I think most guys just gut their engine bay and drop in a large V8 to equal out the weight displacement.

A quick note on the sagging issue. I just put my car back up to stock height with the AGX struts. These struts are so strong and so charged with gas that they actually make my car stand up even higher. Especially in the rear. The car now sits perfectly level once again.

The Maxima will always have that look a little bit unless you get Sprint springs. Reason is that the rear wheelwell is shorter than the front, so sheetmetal to tire clearance is always lower in the rear, even if the car is sitting evenly.

The only alternative I know of is to install lowering springs with a higher drop in the front. Example: Progress Springs have 1.75 front and 1.5 drop in rear. This should make the car just about even.

Even after dropping the car, it "sagging" effect is still there.

Actually the Sprints looks a little weird because they are higher in the back than in the front. However when you are driving it levels out and looks perfect. I assure you.
