Racing Seats / Side Air Bag?

Hello guys, I'm relatively new to this forum, been lurking for a good while but finally decided to join.

I am looking to purchase a Bride replica seat for my I30 for just the driver side and I have a side airbag in my current stock seat.

I have two questions,
1.) Will universal sliders/mounts that come with the Bride replica seats work with the A32 with a bit of work?
2.) Will disconnecting the side airbag on the I30 trip out my entire airbag system? How can I make the system just ignore the lack of a side airbag?

Thanks a lot,
Mike

based on what I found here a while back. the airbag light will be on if the side airbag isn't connected. you may be able to eliminate that by using a 97 airbag module though it has not been confirmed AFAIK
universal mounts only work on cars with universal floorpans, so I seriously doubt they will work easily.

I did it. Replaced side airbag seats in a 98 with regular ones from a 97. Also used the 97 module. Consult 2 says my airbag system contains no faults, and the light is off. Just my two cents.

based on my knolodge of electronics, i belive that if you figure out the resistance of the airbag, you can conect resistors to where the airbag conects to and the computer would read it as if the airbag was never removed. againg, thats just an educated guess based on theory. someone correct me if im wrong.

Yeah that sounds right. I could do that possibly or just change the module to the non-side airbag one. Anybody got experience on the sliders/rails/mounts for racing seats? Thanks.

why don't you get direct fit mounts instead?

It'll make the swap so much easier.
