Car throwing bad codes, Bad ecm?

Okay, so about 3 weeks ago it threw a P0705 which if im not mistaken shouldn't have been thrown on a manual transmition car, so i cleared it thinking it was a fluke, then within a few days it came back and about a week and a half ago i cleared it again, then the cel came on again within a few days.

So about a 3 days ago i checked it and it was that same P0705 along with a P1447 which i don't think exists! now it's came on today and i'm really getting sick of looking at that little yellow light, do i need a new ECM?

Thanks

5MT cars will throw P0705 if it's not receiving a signal from the reverse/neutral position switch.

P1447 exists, why do you think it doesn't? Those are both valid codes, did you even look them up?

yeah i did, my scanner diddn't have the P1447 come up as a valid code and maybe i made i typo when i typed it into that page that you sent me the link to, so my bad on that one, but what does the p0705 effect? because the reverse lights still work so what else is that for?

thank you

Long story short, it sends a signal to the ECM whenever the car is in neutral. Never really looked into why, but you should do some diagnostics on that sensor. It's all in the FSM.
