cut a wire .. did i screw something up?

i was reading this thread:
http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...turned-up.html

i saw in the write-up to cut the red wire with the blue stripe .. so i did it, except i cut the red wire with blue stripe that goes to the hazard lights. i still did the always bright mod and it worked.
anyway, did i mess something up by cutting the red wire with blue stripe that goes to the hazard lights? what does that wire do?
thanks for any help

What year? I don't see a R/L going to the hazard switch in EL.

Chances are though, it's just another dimmer wire. Have you actually tried to determine what the wire does? Checked illumination on the hazard switch, or tried to use the hazards, turn signals, etc?

Why not just get a wire connector, shave the wire tips off, and crimp it. Then it'll be like it never happened.
