Do I need to change PCV valve for 60k tune-up

whats up guys...i am doing 60k tune-up this weekend and need to find out if i need to change pcv valve. If so, where is the best/cheapest place to get this and how much should i expect to pay? Anyone has "how-to" on this? i checked it out on maximadriver.com but its too general? anyone know of better directions? thanx in advance....

It isn't part of the schedule, but for the cost involved (less than 10 bucks), you might as well do it. They are readily available at any automotive parts store.

What exactly is pcv valve, what's its function? would it improve my gas milege or performance or anything else??

The Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve is an emissions control device that routes unburned crankcase blowby gases back into the intake manifold where they can be reburned.

It looks like this from the inside.

Just did that at 30k miles
Might as well do it as they can go out at any time. I picked up a Purolator PCV and it was $5-6 US. There's a bracket located near the PCV valve that is attached with 2 10mm bolts. If you remove those bolts and shove the bracket towards the side, it will help give clearance to access removal/installation of the PCV valve.

I have never done this but had it done on my other cars a few times at Jiffy Lube. How often should it be done on our cars?

Like I posted above, it isn't part of the maintenance schedule, but every 30K isn't a bad idea.
