anti-seize instead of blue goo for brakes?

this guy at checkers told me to use anti-seize instead of blue goo for the back of the brake pads. he said it works better and won't melt. any of you tried this?

Yeah...used it on my F-150. Also noticed Nissan dealer used it on my rear brake job. Between the caliper and the shim.

I use anti sieze on the retainer clips. Keeps the pads from "seizing up"...

I orig used anti-seize and all it did for me was make my brakes squeel. The didnt squeel for about the first week but then after, it got terrible. I redid my brakes using this blue jelly looking stuff that i put on the back side of the pads and beween the shims. I forgot the name of that product but you can use CRC Disc Brake Quiet spray. I also put some special coating to the front of the pads to reduce squeel & brake dust. This eliminated all squeels for me. Its been months now since i did this and squeel free. BTW, if you use semi-metallic pads, expect some squeeels. I also only use OEM pads & shims. Replace teh shims if they look groved or worm from teh piston on teh caliper.

I recently replaced my front brake pads from OEM to Porterfield R-4S pads. I used a new OEM shim kit (41080-40U25) and Permatex Disc Brake Quiet (two small tubes of blue goo). No squealing at all. The Porterfields are a dramatic improvement over stock pads.

Did you replace the shims too? I think this may be more important.
