Door Light killed Window Switch?

So, about a month ago, I was playing with my Door Light, pulled the bulb out and put another in, and suddenly after moving it around a little, it died. The light would not come on. So, I shrugged and said screw it, I'll take care of it later. I went to lock my door, and the switch would not work. Windows would not go down, auto lock wasnt working. The switch still lit up, but wouldnt operate.

I pulled the door panel off and unplugged the switch, and just let it sit for a while. Came back about 20 minutes later, plugged it back in, and it was operating. I left the door light "harness" unplugged, as it remains today.

Now, I'm thinking about doing some LED mods, but I'm concerned about that switch going out again, or on another door, if I mess with the door lights. I want to LED mod those.

So does anyone know what could have happened to make that switch die like that? I don't want it to happen again, but I really want to plug it back in and LED mod those door lights.

You oughta check your components ( light and door switch) for wiring tightness/security. But I think the real culprit is the master switch control panel @ the drivers door armrest.

I've had this problem. For some reason the step lights are connected to the window switches (I don't remember if it's driver & passenger or just driver switch that is affected).

When it happened to me I had to get a new switch, because it would randomly stop working and I had no way to put the windows up when it rained. Very strange.

You tripped the window circuit breaker when you played with the light.
It resets after some time.

Exactly what happened to me. I was freaking out when it happened to my SECOND switch, so i unplugged it and plugged it back in like I said and it's worked since then. I'm thinking I'll just leave the door lights alone now lol.
