Adding a sub w/bose...quick question

So i did read the stickes...

I'm happy with the Bose system, but just want to add a sub. Is this possible?

Yes, you have to make sure you have a sub amp (or converter) that can take speaker level inputs. Tap the amp into the rear speakers between the speaker and the amp. However, once again you'll be getting the "after Equalization" sound, so the signal will not be accurate.
So does this mean my sub is gona sound way ****ty?

I have basically an amp and a box with some subs... And what does it mean by tap the amp into the rear speakers? I only have one rear spearker plugged in at the moment...can i just hook the amp into the one thats not being used?

Can someone give me a picture or something? Im a audio newbie. Thanks!

Just get one of these hook them up to the rear speaker and then some rca from that little box to your amp.....

Yeah thats the easiest thing to do. Its in the stickies somewhere I remember reading it. I'll look and if I find it I'll post it.

this is what i did.the box has a positive side wire, and a negative side. hook each to the corresponding positive and negative on the factory speakers and run an rca wire from the converter to the amp. easy as cake to do. the sound is really going to depend on what kind of amp and sub you're running.

Okay that seems simple enough.... do the speakers only have 2 wires? i would look right now, but its below freezing and snowing in the dark...

And can i just cut some wires and twist them together to join the high to low converter and put a cap on them? I mean the one rear speaker is totally d/c because its blown.

And whats a good way to get power to my amp in the trunk?

This is alot more simple than i thought it'd be! Thanks alot!

well the bose has a set of four wires bc of the built in amp. the wires you need will be clear since they run to the speaker. but in your case i would look at the other side to confirm the wires but im pretty sure its the red and black wires. Just tap in and you're all set.

For my amp, i ran a wire from the battery all the way back to the amp alongside the driver's side of the car, under the rear seat cushion and into the trunk.

Okay so you did something like this in the rear? how did you hide the wire inside towards the front? and how did you get the wire from inside the engine bay inside the car?? Thanks!

yeah i did that except i ran mine behind the seat support, not through the passage to the trunk. there was a small hole in the firewall close to the clutch master cylinder. im not sure if its there stock or the previous owner drilled a hole for a system but i ran my power wire through that, under the carpet, under the kick panel and carpet all the way back and came up under the seat cushion. if need i can snap some pics tommorrow when its light out and not so cold.

its easier to get the power wire through the firewall if you take your front driver side wheel off and take the plastic rock guard out. that way you can easily get to some of the grommets to run the wire through that are around the area of your fuse panel.
