shifter trim different between auto and 5 speed

shifter trim different between auto and 5 speed

i have read the only difference is that it is wider but how much wider is it, i have one of those cf dash kits and wonder if i can trim my auto one. also how is the shift boot held on the bottom. thanks

Figures that's the one thing I didn't save from my 5 speed swap, the auto trim.

The boot is held on the manual trim by a metal ring. If you want more specifics than that, look up how to install a new boot on a manual and it will have plenty of pictures to go with it.
