P codes and misfire problem..

i recently had my car fixed it was misfiring, it was a rear coil pack making the car misfire. well today it started misfiring again and i went to advance auto parts got the obdII scanner and checked it out and it gave me P1320 which is a misfire/ignition system problem. so i searched online on this forum and on a few others, i did the self check (unpluged the coils individually) it came out to be the SAME coil i just replaced. can this be a bad wire harness? can it be that the coil i got from the parts store was just junk and i should go to the dealer.. ive noticed in other peoples exiperances, they had to replace ALL 6 even though only came up as 1 being bad... the second code i threw was a P0340 which is the camshaft position sensor, which once again i JUST replaced about 3 days ago.. and once again bought it from the parts store not dealer..

thats where i got mine. its a BWD brand but they seem to reuse nissan's coil, scratch off their emblems and rebuild them.

i would say stick with OEM coils. didn't realize you dropped it off at a shop.
in that case, ask your mechanic what he checked. need to know if your power supply, ground circuit, signal output wire (check continuity) all ok for that coil plug harness. make sure you look at the ignition coil to see if it exploded or not as well

yeh $400 is wayyy to steep for something like that. what you shoulda done first is ask the forum. but if you really wanted a professional to look at it, i woulda of done just a diagnosis first. don't know how they charged you that much. and as for the antenna, i would of just disconnected it

good luck, let me know how it goes

i pulled the coil it looked fine, no burn marks, explosions like yours haha, nothing on the outter shell shows it had blown up or any kinda getting too hot problems. just stopped working..

i really want to know if i throw another one in if it is going to keep going threw coils or if i got a crappy one and thats all.. is there wiring problems with those? the one thats burned up i think is cyl 5. its the one in the back closest to the driver door.. im not seeing any write up's on anyone having to go threw and fix the wiring i can only find diagrams

Swap coils and see if the problem follows. If it's still the same cylinder, then it's your wiring. If the other cylinder starts misfiring, it's your coil. Go get a refund.

i have had the same misfirng problem in my 95, and i have replaced all coils (front), and all spark plugs, and i am not sure how to replace the rear coils. The car is still misfiring, i am getting a little frustrated, because i really dont know what else to do.

thats a good idea wish i did this earlier haha, but i ended up returning the one i just replaced today to my mechanic and hes ordering me a new one for free but when it comes in what ill do is swap an old one in there and keep the new one in a diffrent cylinder. so if my wiring is bad will it misfire wether the coil is good or not??? cause what was happening before is i would start the car and it sounded like a suby for a few seconds then it ran fine and then just 1 random day it was running like an wrx, loud skipping sounding and slow!! would the coil do that or would the wiring sometimes make connection and sometimes not?

is your check engine light on? wether it is or isn't bring it to a local parts store to get a scan and come back here with the codes, there is a stickies w/ a decoder for P codes

yes, i forgot to mention what Ilyak mentioned. do that and you'll figure it out.
if its the wires, it sounds like a short to me with you saying it does that on and off. do what i posted earlier and the FSM tells you all the procedures.

threw the new coil pack in and its been fine.. still have the hard start, but i did a search and found out its either the timing or i need to ground my starter. so thats the next step, but as for the coil pack, if it goes bad again is there a way to check the connection threw a volt meter? or something i can plug into the coil pack connector to see if its sending signal only sometimes

what coil did you use? advance or nissan?
did you switch up the coils with different chambers?
i have another "good" BWD (advance auto) coil that i was gonna test by installing it in another cylinder but haven't gotten to it yet.

and i repeated this several times and its also all in that link i posted.
to check the wires for the plug harness you need a multimeter and some extensions. check voltage b/t terminal 1 and ground, check continuity b/t terminal 2 and ground, check continuity b/t terminal 3 and ecu harness (forget the pin # of the ecu).
