speedo question

Is it possible to put the 5th gen speedo sensor into a 4th gen? I'd like to run the taller tires that come on a 5th gen, but keep my speedo accurate.

AFAIK the speedo sensor is the same, it's the speedo that's calibrated differently. Just change the tires out to a size that more closely matches your OEM size.

is there a write-up on calibration or is it in FSM? did a quick search and found nothing on the .org for speedo calibration that detailed much. I will flip through fsm now, but if anyone has the answer, i would appreciate it.

reason is, if i run something close to stock size, i'll be running a 235/40/18, however i'd rather run a 245/40/18

^yeah, i've been searching the internet all day (good thing the boss is out) and i've found a ton of stuff for trucks, ranging from in-line calibrators to programmers. However, I've found nothing for Nissan unless I want to drop 3k on a consult.

depends on how you feel about speedo accuracy. compared to the 205/65/15 stock tire,

the 235/40/18 is .355% smaller meaning your speedo will show faster than you are going.

the 245/40/18 is .88% larger so the speedo will show slower than what you are going.
