auto headlight
auto headlight
To whoever is interested:
I pretty much finished auto sensing headlight, except for the final sensor location, and the logic way it works.
1. From Radio Shack I bought a tube of glue that claims it can bond to glass, rubber, china, ... almost whatever household material. But I tried gluing a PCB material with sensor on to the dash vinyl, and it didn't stick at all; tried gluing it to glass and it didn't. Does anyone know a better glue?
2. I thought I connected the light wires such that when light switch is at first stop (parking), my auto headlight will sense the environment to determine if it's time to turn it on or off. But actually it was connected that at sencond stop (headlight on) it starts sensing, and the first stop is the same as before. I mean it's working but do you think at which switch stop is "logically" better to "sense" the environment? (Certainly I'll add another switch to enable/disable the auto sensing function) Or you think either is OK?
Thanks for thinking about it. BTW, nest I'll add another feature to headlight: after any of the door is closed, the headlight will light up for 20 seconds then off, like some MB has that?

Re: auto headlight
Actually the MB lights up the fog lights only when the car was driven with headlights on.

There is a sensor infront of the dash in the same location as the solar sensor for the auto climate, but on the other side of the car. So for me the solar sensor is on left, the auto headlights on the right since we're right hand drive here.
