Any DIY on how to clean the IACV?

I have pulled it off my 95 maxima and before I start spraying I was wondering if I should pull anything apart in there and should use only TB cleaner correct? Thanks

Be sure to take the gold colored cup off (careful with the screws or you will strip them) and clean in there well.

This has been explained before. But anyway, use your tooth brush that you use to brush your teeth, or you can use an old one, lol. Make sure its dry, I would wait about an hour or two for it to completely dry, but your can wait as long as you think it takes to dry. Also, before you put it back on the car, clean the connectors, sometimes that can be the reason why the IAVC has a malfunction (sometimes).

I found it much, much easier to remove the IACV bolts first, it makes it so much easier to remove the electrical plugs

You mean vs cleaning it while it's still mounted to the UIM?

Why would you clean it while it was still on?? I took mine completely off and apart and soaked it in hot soapy water and took my dremel tool and cleaned it off and polished the metal

Above you said it was easier to remove it first, implying that you've tried cleaning it with it still mounted to the UIM.
