Just blew a Brand new Moog balljoint in 5 days. HELP
o_0. So I just replaced the balljoint on the driver side last Wednesday 18th. Come to find out last night that the horrible snapping sound on turns and on bumps is back again. This makes no sense to me. I didn't hit any pot-holes or anything or even race or push hard on the car.
I put the sucker in correctly. How could I be needing another one? Hell how could I need one within 5 days? It is done by the sounds of it. Now I gotta rip apart the knuckle again and do the job. My favorite part is I just blew $80 bucks into getting an alignment done.
Well I shouldn't say blew... because I changed my tierods as well so my Toe was messed up, but I still don't wanna be messing with anything in the front end even if the camber isn't adjustable or not...
So with that said, The only thing I can think of is a Bad Control Arm. The arm looks fine, but I know nothing of how too tell on this car if it is bad or not. Something is probably bent and causing the balljoint to sit in a bad postion and is pulling on it or causing it to pop.
What do I do? I really don't want to keep doing this. I also replaced the other side as well. That seems to be fine and I didn't even put a moog on the other side either. Everything was done right. I used to be a mechanic so I know what I am doing and I have my mechanic uncle give me a hand sometimes because I am using his lift and shop.
Help for people that had similar issues. DO balljoints go on these cars a lot or something? It is not like I have a truck and go off-roading or anything.. Jesus Nissan your engines rock but front ends suck. =[

i blew my moog too (outer tie rod end though). idk how long after install because i just noticed that today - pass side.
do you have warranty on yours? if so it's not too bad.
anyways i think moog might not be the way to go - my oem ball joints are still fine and so is my driver side tie rod end.
