I stopped and got out of my car real fast because I had to move some stuff from my backseat to the trunk. I was on a busy street and just pulled off to the shoulder so when I saw there was no traffic I just got out real quick and slammed the door. Now the bad part, when I came back to the door it wouldn't open, I look down and the seat belt had managed to get stuck in the door when I was closing it, except instead of just not closing, the seat belt went into the door panel. So now I have about a one inch hole in the side of the door panel. It's pretty ugly looking, but not really noticable, but I still want a new door panel. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a cheap place to purchase such an odd part. I have a 96 se with black interior & black leather. There's that one part on the door panel that has black leather on it, and I bet it's a all in one piece. I didn't really look at it because it would just make me mad. If anyone knew a price estimate or anything I'd appricate it. I'm sure if I go to the dealer they will charge me as much for 1 door panel as for a new set of tires. Any comments/help would be nice. I've never even heard or seen this happen before, so just watch where your seat belt is when you get out of your car.

Check with auto recyclers (that's the new name for junkyards). When they have a perfect door they want to sell the whole thing, not just the trim panel. You are looking for a door which is mangled on the outside but has a good trim panel. You will have to be patient.

Another path to investigate is an auto trim and upholstery shop. A skilled hand can repair that damaged panel.

Yeah, I had my car broken into and they scratched the passenger side door. Insurance gave me like $600 to replace the door, so I hope you don't have to buy one new.
