Front end overhaul

So i made it my winter project to redo my whole front end, front/rear motor mounts, ES bushings in control arms, sway bar bushings and links.

For those of you who have or have driven a G35/350Z The one thing i notice is how tight the steering feel is, if your driving down a road and jerk the wheel left to right, it doesnt feel sloppy like my car does.

Now, i can see there are 2 bushings that hold the rack to the firewall, i dont know if those would effect this, im thinking they would. The line going to my rack was leaking PS fluid, i replaced the clamp and it stopped, but it leaked P/S fluid for probably 8 years. The other thing was my tranny leaking gear oil everywhere including on my rack. Ive been told tie rod's could cause this too, im not sure though.

Any input? Are the 2 bushings on the rack the same style as the ones that hold the swar bar to the subframe? It would suck to have to drop the rack to replace them.

There are two bushings that hold the rack, they are not the same as the swaybar bushings, and they are not available in polyurathane, only option is OEM. If you are replacing all your front end bushings, might as well replace these too.

Indeed. But just like the sway bar bushings, they are a split D shape, so you can slip them around the rack without dropping it.

Ahh okay. Yeah i confirmed it with one of the guys from work. Apparently they are pretty easy to replace so im going to start with those, and if that doesnt help, im going to do tie rods.

For anyone who is kinda on the boat, ill be honest with all my mods, this is by far probably one of the best things ive ever done. 200K miles + oil leaking on either side of the car (P/S fluid, engine oil on passenger side, gear oil and p/s fluid on driverside). It took its toll on my bushings, now that ive pretty much replaced every bushing with poly urathane/OEM, the car feels so much better. Probably the most rewarding mod ive done, next too boost :P
