Adjusting camber

So i got my alignment today and my camber is negative. The mechanic said you cant adjust that and a pair camber adjusting bolts might fix it. He's not sure if that will solve the problem and i searched and i came to a conclusion that it may be the strut? Any suggestions or if anyone else has delt with this issue?

Thank you in advance

you can try camber bolts but they can only adjust +/- 1 degree i think

Whats the actual number? I'm pretty sure camber is supposed to be negative. Do you have a lowered suspension?

Yep, the actual reading would help a lot. Front camber should be at -.15 degrees, according to factory specs.

Where you in a collision of any sort lately, or what? Why did you go in for an alignment?

1. Take it to a mechanic that's more familiar with Nissans.
2. Get us numbers.
3. Make sure all of the front suspension is in good condition before you start adjusting camber. i.e. bushings in good shape, no bad struts or strut mounts. They're all problematic on a 10+yr old car and can cause the camber to be out of spec.

well, i went in for an alignment because i just put a rack and pinion in and when i put the outer tie rod ends in, i dont think i got the tires perfectly parallel to each other. So i decided i should get an alignment before i get uneven wear.

The readings:

Front left Front right ===== specified range
-0.6 Camber 0.4 ===== -1.0 0.5
2.4 caster 2.4 ===== 2.0 3.5
.12 toe .12 ===== .05 .14

rear left rear right
-1.4 camber -1.0 ===== -1.8 -0.3
.12 toe .29 ===== -.13 .22

And as of now, my car is pulling to right, no collision i know about. And the suspension is stock.

MATT93SE is right, 10 year old springs do tend to sag, which would give you some negative camber. I run -1.5 degrees in the front because it helps on road courses, however it can lead to premature tire wear. I'm at the +.4 on the front right. That doesn't seem right or even possible on our cars.
Are the struts factory or have they been replaced? I have seen some struts that have an oblong top mounting hole where the spindle mounts, where some camber can be adjusted by tightening up the spindle bolt at a certain position.

it's possible that someone tampered with the knuckle, where the bottom of the strut mounts.
It's not uncommon to see people oblong the holes in the knuckle to adjust camber, take out the lower two bolts and check the holes in the knuckle to see if they've been hogged out at all, thats about the only thing that I can think right now, seems odd that it'd be that far out from any 'regular' wear on the suspension.

What's your tire wear look like ?
