5TH Gen AE sills In a 4TH gen
This thread was stared over in the 3rd gen forum from someone that added AE 5th Gen sills in his 3rd Gen So I figured I'll post here to inform you guys looking on doing this or have wondered ( im sure ) if it can done or not. The answer is the fronts will work but the aluminum plate on the 5th GEN sill will have to be removed via the little tabs under the sill have to be pryed up gently , then the aluminum plate can be easily removed.
You then place the plate over your 4th gen sill. It will not sit flush like in the 5th Gen sills but results we satisfying enough to me.http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/m...g?t=1244402848 old Ceifro Sills new 5TH GEN sill installed over 4th Gen http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/m...g?t=1244402956 heres another http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/m...g?t=1244403161
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/m...=1244403161Big problem is that the rear 5th Gen sills are to bighttp://i292.photobucket.com/albums/m...g?t=1244403377
So there you have it. The rear 4th Gen sills measure about 13" in length and the rear 5th Gen AE sill are measured 16" across , yeah I can probably cut it with some sheet metal snips and file the edges smooth but it might come out like crap so Im thinking of just returning them and getting my money back. I can always put the rear Cefiro ones back on. If any one else has done this mod and found a solution the rears feel free to chime in.

Well came up with a solution to my problem. CUT CUT CUT! used a Dremal and cut it down and it works out good enough for me. I rounded out and smooth off the cut edges with a light grit sanding wheel. I'll post some pics when Im done with the other rear side.
Bought new.. paid about just shy of 90 bucks for them at courtesy Nissan. I will be selling my Cefiero ones for 30 bucks. They have some scuffs on them but they are in decent condition. Let me know if you want some pics. One of the fronts are pictures in the photo link. Also the cefiero name plate came off that was in the middle of the sill.. but Im sure a Maxima can probably be found , I have seen them before. The other front has the name plate in place.
Well as promised.. And Im very happy

So to some it up.. with some modification the 5th gen sills will work. The rears 5th Gen sills will have to be cut using a dremel in order for them to fit over the 4th Gen sills.
