egr-c solenoid valve harness

okay long story short i broke the clip for the harness to the egrc valve solenoid..now it doesnt stay on, resulting in the check engine light to come on..i decided to duct tape the clip part and after a while the light went away...

now i just bought a clip and harness...should i cut and solder the two together so i no longer will have to duct tape it? the reason i ask is cuz im not sure if the solder (since its not a complete wire) would change the resistance on the wire causing improper signal for the solenoid...any suggestions?

All the solenoid does is switch vacuum sources, it doesn't report anything back to the ECU with resistance. Solder the new pigtail on, problem solved.
