Alternator Interchangability???

I need an alternator for my 96.
The dealer shows different PN's for 95-96, 97-99, 2000 and for 2001.
Anyone know how interchangable these are, since these basic engines are the same?

As long as it is a 12V Hitachi and you can mount it, it should work. I am using a Murano alternator in my '98 I30 now.

They're likely all just rated differently. They'll all work.

i work at an auto parts place, so ive looked this stuffed up a while back, there all basically the same, same shape and connections. only minor difference is the amperage output, its really small differences, but ive seen the one for the 96 fed spec max to have the highest amps. might help a little if you got an audio system with lots of watts
